My name is Pat Crowley and I am running for Kalamazoo County Drain Commissioner. The Drain Commissioner manages the quality and quantity of the waters in our streams and lakes by controlling stormwater and reducing soil erosion.
Though Kalamazoo County has nearly one quarter of a million residents, more than 360 lakes and ponds, and hundreds of miles of streams, rivers, and drains, we have never had a Drain Commissioner who was qualified and experienced in Water Resources Management.
I have spent my entire career developing the skills it takes to understand complex soil and water relationships. I have a master’s degree in Water Resources Management; a PhD in soil and water physics from MSU; and 25 years of experience working with people in all aspects of the water cycle. I have successfully taken on many difficult challenges and I respect a wide variety of opinions. I can provide Kalamazoo County with inspired leadership that is sensitive, practical, and trustworthy.
